Neither Ravens nor Bengals. Historically strong franchises, featuring premier quarterback talent, possess either glaring roster weaknesses or have been hit by injuries.

Lacking competent QB performance, the Broncos won't frighten playoff opponents. The Chargers are also hovering in the AFC West at 7-2, but the injuries along their offensive line will present challenges to achieve championship contention.

Pittsburgh Situation

Meanwhile, Pittsburgh exists, somehow still leading the AFC North despite being thumped 25-10 by the Chargers in the evening game. They've been outscored overall, their defense regularly vanishes, and the QB's current constraints given his veteran status regularly manifest. At 5-4, they're barely clinging, yet Baltimore, featuring a recovered Jackson and the schedule softening, have won three consecutive. This development isn't entirely shocking that the Ravens have pulled within a game of the Steelers, but how rapidly this occurred represents criticism toward Pittsburgh's fluctuating form. That the Ravens started losing five of six yet still appear they should win the division reveals much about the conference as a whole.

Traditional Powers

The Ravens' form part of the Big Three – alongside the Bills and Chiefs – driven by elite quarterback play, who would still strike the greatest concern in opposing teams if they made the playoffs. They represent undesirable playoff matchups, but the Chiefs and Bills persistently undermine themselves.
