Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by instructing students that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his viewpoint on British schools, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike soon after winning the next general election,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They promote this negative culture.”

In response to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede rejected the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his public life on dog-whistle politics and currently, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

The party, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, Farage’s remarks suggested the party would overhaul the educational framework. He said: “We face an enormous task with schooling – absolutely herculean. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves rather than current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for children.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated such groups were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I make that commitment now and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of freedom. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to every interested learner.”
