The Ideal Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Zodiac Sign
This comeback of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense enthusiasm within the community. Starting with the one-by-one reveal of newcomers before the game's launch, to players developing strong opinions on the entire lineup of new Megas, there's a lot for enthusiasts to look forward to.
Given many of the Super Forms boasting distinctive appearances that highlight their traits, one thought naturally: How can link this with zodiac signs? The following is inspired by a blend of intuition, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
The Ram – Mega Camerupt
Honestly, Houndoom was almost chosen for Aries, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that inspire the greatest apprehension. However, a Mega Houndoom appears as constantly furious, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, known for being playful, light-hearted, and spontaneous. This makes Aries much more similar to Mega Camerupt, which only spews lava when angered. Remain on the friendly side of both and enjoy a powerful ally; if you cross them, be ready to get burned.
Taurus – Mega Heracross
Much like a devoted Taurus, the reliable Heracross, both in its regular and Super Form, has aided many players in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, both the creature and a Taurus are also battle-oriented, and – be it their companion or a firm belief – will stand up for their position to the end. The thing about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unabashed love of treats. Many past official descriptions note their craving for tasty tree sap and how it uses its appendage to collect it all, which is true Taurus energy.
Gemini – Super Medicham
Look at this absolute queen. It's impossible to tell me this Pokémon is not the soul of every party, offering an endless stream of chatter to those who wants to listen. Just like an enrapturing, sociable Gemini, it's very easy to imagine Super Medicham captivating an entire Wild Zone with their tales. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also mentions its ability to predict an enemy’s future actions, which seems quite like a people-smart Twins.
Cancer – Mega Manectric
Cancer is commonly regarded as the most emotional member of the astrological wheel, a passionate symbol famous for frequently becoming wrapped up in their emotions. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “tremendous amount of energy, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to fully manage,” which sounds a lot like a classic Cancer crash-out. This Pokémon is also known for its ability to make a storm cloud over its very self – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is likely to do, it’s rain on their own parade.
Leo – Mega Starmie
Well, did you assume I was planning to pick the lion Pokémon for the king of the zodiac? Aside from the reality that it would be much too obvious, The Lion is obviously Mega Starmie, the star whose legs just went viral for being extremely glamorous (or horrifying, based on your taste). Fans were captivated from the purple sea star, and that’s exactly the same vibe a Leo offers to the table. Starmie is also rumored to be transmitting signals from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Leo to be putting on a performance, even if for extraterrestrials.
Virgo – Super Victreebel
The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Virgo is ideally encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual acid reflux. The sign known for being charmingly judgmental is clearly reflected throughout this creature's whole lineage, from a perpetually shocked face like a Maiden when you inform them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its inverted visage that’s just like the symbol a Maiden sends to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of creating a plan.
The Scales – Super Audino
Look at this sweet, empathetic creature, who employs the feelers on its ears to tell how others are feeling by their pulse. Consistently empathetic – sometimes to a detriment – and trying to keep the peace, there are many Scales who would probably appreciate Mega Audino’s abilities. Though, let’s be honest, it would probably just cause them to stress even more about everyone else.
The Scorpion – Mega Banette
This Ghost-type is a creature with a unexpectedly tragic backstory: Discarded as a doll, it became sentient through sheer resentment and swore revenge on its previous caretaker. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That seems exactly like several conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpio friends. A Scorpion loves cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the perfect match with Mega Banette.
Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always putting on a show. As a Archer myself, the amount of occasions I’ve referred to myself some version of a “playful small jester” is innumerable. The showiest and most obnoxious Super Form, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “flexes to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius match I can imagine.
The Goat – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the ability to foresee calamities in advance? That gives the identical energy as a Capricorn, who often always believe they’re right. Interestingly, much like a prophetic Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the very first Mega Evolution that players meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to join the beginning of the Super Form craze.
Aquarius – Mega Chandelure
Aloof element Water Bearer is possibly the non-flame sign that is closest to a flame symbol – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are numerous memes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being unpredictable accomplices. Super Chandelure's dual Spirit/Flame category fits seamlessly with this, and the Mega’s general intimidating aura is also very Water Bearer. If you weren’t already convinced, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “absorbs hatred and transforms it into power.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
