Two Victims Identified in Brown University Shooting as Law Enforcement Press On With Manhunt for Killer.

Both young individuals who lost their lives in the recent mass shooting on the university campus were being remembered Monday – while an intensive search for their assailant carried on following the release by local law enforcement of the sole person detained in connection in the case.

Remembering Ella Cook

The student Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was remembered as “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, according to the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which honored her memory at a ceremony on Sunday.

The other deceased individual was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, an Uzbek national in his freshman year at the prestigious university, his family confirmed.

Umurzokov’s identity was verified by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He possessed remarkable kindness, humor, and intelligence. His ambitions were lofty of becoming a neurosurgeon and helping people,” Samira Umurzokova, his sister said in a tribute.
